Are you an analytical professional who enjoys building data platforms and translating data into actionable insights? Would you like to work within an international manufacturing organisation with multiple locations across Europe, where data plays an increasingly important role in decision-making? Optimum Group™ is looking for a Data Analyst / Data Engineer to further develop and professionalise our data environment. As part of our IT team, you are essential to the management and continuous improvement of our data structure across our 17 locations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Denmark.

As a Data Analyst / Data Engineer, you combine data engineering with data analysis. You are responsible for designing, building and managing our data infrastructure and ensuring that reliable data is available throughout the organisation. In addition, you develop dashboards, analyses and reports that enable management and business teams to make better decisions. You report directly to the Group IT Manager and work closely with colleagues from various disciplines and countries.

We are looking for a new colleague who will work full-time (40 hours) and independently, with the following responsibilities:

Data architecture & infrastructure

Designing, developing and maintaining the data architecture and data warehouse (TimeXtender);
Advising on tooling, architecture standards and best practices;
Monitoring the performance, reliability and security of the data environment;
Contributing to the further development of the data platform;

Data engineering & integration

Developing and managing ETL processes and data pipelines;
Integrating data from internal and external sources;
Automating and monitoring data processing processes;
Documenting data flows and technical solutions;

Data analysis, reporting & dashboards

Developing and maintaining reports and dashboards in Power BI;
Analysing operational, commercial and business data;
Identifying trends, opportunities and areas for improvement;
Presenting insights and recommendations to management and stakeholders.

What we demand

We are looking for a new colleague who recognises themselves in the following description:

Demonstrable experience in data engineering, ETL processes, data pipelines and data integration;
HBO-level working and thinking, preferably in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field;
Experience in setting up and managing a data warehouse, preferably with TimeXtender;
Experience with Business Intelligence tools, including Power BI;
Knowledge of data governance, data quality and privacy legislation (GDPR);
Experience working within a larger, complex organisation with diverse stakeholders;
Strong analytical skills;
A solution-oriented and hands-on mentality.
